Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Punch List Capenter to join our team, responsible for ensuring that all project deficiencies and punch list items are addressed efficiently and to the highest standards. This role involves performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and finishing tasks across various construction sites, with an emphasis on quality workmanship and timely completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a comprehensive understanding of construction processes, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to deliver exceptional results. Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans, blueprints, and schematics to identify punch list items requiring attention
  • Conduct detailed inspections of completed work to identify defects or incomplete tasks
  • Perform repairs and finishing work including caulking, trim carpentry, drywall repair, painting touch-ups, and fixture installation
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various repair tasks
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion
  • Document all punch list items accurately and update project records accordingly
  • Assist in restoration efforts such as masonry, concrete finishing, stucco application, and heavy equipment operation when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and construction regulations throughout all activities
  • Support other construction activities such as roofing, flooring installation, tile laying, glass installation, or cabinetry as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency

Experience:

  • Proven experience in construction maintenance or handyman roles within commercial or residential projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction management principles and estimating processes
  • Skilled in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Hands-on experience with a variety of trade skills including carpentry (frame, trim, door hanging), plumbing, electrical work, masonry, roofing, and drywall finishing
  • Familiarity with construction inspection procedures and quality control standards
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment safely when required
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a drug and background screening.
