The Dietary Aide/Dish is responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of meals to residents or patients in a healthcare or long-term care facility. This role supports the dietary team by ensuring that food is served according to dietary requirements and guidelines, maintaining a clean and safe dining environment, and providing excellent customer service to residents and patients. The Dietary Aide plays an essential role in promoting health and well-being through nutritious meals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meal Preparation and Service:

    • Assist in preparing and serving meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines, including special diets such as diabetic, low-sodium, or gluten-free.
    • Ensure that food is served in an attractive and timely manner, following portion control and resident preferences.
    • Prepare food trays, deliver meals to residents or patients, and assist with food delivery to common areas or individual rooms as needed.
  • Dietary Compliance:

    • Follow dietary instructions for residents or patients with specific medical needs, ensuring that meals meet their nutritional requirements.
    • Ensure proper portion sizes and follow meal plans to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Sanitation and Safety:

    • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes, cleaning tables, and sanitizing equipment.
