About the Facility

This military base facility provides specialized hematology and oncology services across inpatient, outpatient, and clinic settings. The facility maintains a coordinated clinical support team that includes registered nurses, a technician, administrative support, and dedicated infusion clinic staff. Clinical operations are supported through the MHS Genesis electronic medical record system.

About the Facility Location

Las Vegas offers a range of attractions suited to varied interests. The iconic Strip provides access to casinos, live entertainment, and the High Roller observation wheel, while cultural destinations such as the Nevada State Museum, the Neon Museum, and the Fremont Street Experience are also accessible. Clinicians on assignment may explore natural landmarks including Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and the Hoover Dam, both available as day trips, along with unique experiences such as the Ethel M Chocolates Factory, Lion Habitat Ranch, and off-road desert excursions.

About the Clinician's Workday

The hematologist/oncologist will provide comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, and clinic hematology and oncology coverage Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM, managing approximately 10 patients per day. Call coverage is required on a rotating schedule every two weeks, during which the clinician will perform inpatient rounds for active consults. Clinical responsibilities include conducting patient evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and managing hematologic and oncologic conditions across all three care settings. Board certification in Medical Oncology and prescriptive authority are required for this assignment.
