Job description

VACANCY NOTICE

Town of New Fairfield

POSITION:                   ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER - Part Time

 REPORTS TO:             Animal Control Officer

GENERAL DUTIES:  Enforces the animal control regulations of the Town of New Fairfield as well as state statutes concerning animal control.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Three years experience in animal control preferred. Ability to read and interpret animal control regulations. Ability to express decisions and reason through both verbal and written communication. Ability to communicate effectively with the public, various boards and commissions, other departments and staff. Valid driver's license. Certification required within one year.

HOURS: This position requires availability for 10--26 hours per week, including evenings and alternating weekends.

SALARY:                                $28.30 per hour
