Senior Linux Infrastructure EngineerPosition Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer to support a large enterprise infrastructure environment spanning Linux, virtualization, enterprise storage, and cloud infrastructure.

The ideal candidate is a strong hands-on Linux engineer who can go beyond basic administration to troubleshoot complex system issues, understand what is happening at the process and service level, identify root causes, and implement solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Linux environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex Linux issues involving services, processes, daemons, performance, operating systems, and underlying infrastructure.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement long-term solutions.
  • Support enterprise virtualization environments across multiple technologies.
  • Manage and troubleshoot enterprise storage environments, including SAN and NAS.
  • Support cloud infrastructure and manage resources within an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) environment.
  • Support hybrid infrastructure spanning on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Participate in infrastructure modernization, migration, optimization, and operational projects.
  • Monitor system health, capacity, availability, and performance.
  • Partner with networking, cloud, server, application, and other IT teams to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and infrastructure standards.
Required Skills
  • 4+ years of hands-on Linux systems administration/engineering experience.
  • Strong enterprise Linux experience.
  • Strong Linux troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Understanding of Linux services, processes, daemons, networking, storage, performance, and system administration.
  • Enterprise virtualization experience across multiple virtualization platforms.
  • Hands-on enterprise storage experience.
  • Strong understanding of SAN and NAS technologies.
  • Experience managing infrastructure resources within a major public cloud environment.
  • Understanding of IaaS, including virtual machines, compute, storage, networking, and monitoring.
  • Experience supporting enterprise or hybrid infrastructure environments.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with multiple enterprise Linux distributions.
  • Experience with major public cloud platforms.
  • Infrastructure migration or data center consolidation experience.
  • Automation/scripting experience with Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Experience working within a large enterprise environment.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is more than a traditional Linux administrator. We're looking for someone who can look at a complex infrastructure problem, understand what the system is doing, determine why it's happening, and develop the appropriate solution.

This individual should be strongest in Linux while also having solid experience across virtualization, enterprise storage, SAN/NAS, and cloud infrastructure.
