Job description

Role overview:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to lead the deployment, validation and optimization of calibration & test for our next-generation LiDAR sensors. In this role, you will bridge the gap between R&D and high-volume production, ensuring our products meet superior quality standards, performance metrics, and cost targets. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve yield, optimize test and ensure timely product delivery to customers.

What you will be doing:
  • Partner with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) to install, debug, and maintain calibration and test systems, ensuring robust performance during pilot-line and mass-production phases.
  • Collaborate with the test engineering team to improve test processes, cycle time and automation.
  • Run gage R&R for line qualification and station matching and prepare MSA report.
  • Analyze production data (SPC/yield) to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve test failures, driving corrective and preventive actions (8D, 5 Whys).
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including test procedures, operator work instructions, and calibration procedures.
  • Lead the integration with factory MES systems to improve visibility to assembly traceability and quality.
  • Drive DfT, design and development of PCBA test stations such as ICT and FCT used in our manufacturing line.
  • Develop the test strategy for the product, working cross-functionally with stakeholders such as the product design, manufacturing, and quality teams to determine test requirements and drive execution of associated projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the manufacturing process by analyzing manufacturing data to identify trends and identify root causes of failures.
  • Collaborate and influence the product development process and schedules, lead yield reporting and failure analysis process.
What you will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing product testing, specifically with high-precision electro-mechanical assemblies or LiDAR.
  • Proven ability to work with external vendors and Contract Manufacturers (CMs) for factory bring-up.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for automation, test data analysis, and scripting and linux shell scripts.
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and Gage R&R studies.
  • Experience working with industrial robots and handling systems.
