Job description

Data Intelligence, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer - Technical Support to support one of our federal law enforcement clients. This role is responsible for the design, administration, maintenance, and modernization of the technical infrastructure supporting enterprise data integration operations. The Senior Systems Engineer will oversee system configuration, virtualization, automation, cloud infrastructure, web services, and secure data exchange technologies that enable mission-critical information sharing across criminal justice systems. The ideal candidate possesses extensive systems engineering expertise across Windows, Linux, and Unix environments, along with strong experience supporting enterprise integration platforms, cloud technologies, automation, and secure data exchange solutions within a highly secure federal environment. This position may be performed remotely or onsite in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Key Responsibilities * Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of enterprise computer systems, network servers, virtualization platforms, and supporting infrastructure. * Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade computer hardware, software, operating systems, and virtual server environments. * Troubleshoot hardware and software issues by performing diagnostics, documenting root causes and resolutions, prioritizing incidents, and evaluating operational impacts. * Develop, maintain, and utilize automated tools supporting enterprise data integration services and system modernization efforts. * Support and maintain web services, Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) connections, and secure data exchange capabilities. * Develop, configure, and maintain ETL solutions and automated data integration tools supporting enterprise information sharing. * Recommend and implement standardized approaches that improve data integration efficiency, consistency, and scalability. * Develop, maintain, and enhance existing data integration solutions while supporting implementation of new vendor technologies. * Design and maintain automation tools that modernize data ingest processes and enterprise data-sharing pathways. * Evaluate architectural constraints and recommend improvements that enhance performance, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency. * Install, configure, and maintain secure HTTPS web servers in both cloud and on-premises environments supporting static and dynamic web applications. * Support Java application environments, APIs, Java Servlets, and JavaServer Pages (JSP) used to facilitate secure information sharing. * Produce, maintain, and support data integration applications that transform multiple data sources into standardized XML formats. * Develop and maintain technical documentation, including: * Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) * Technical documentation * Process workflows * White papers * Status reports * Dashboards * Program reports * Track project milestones, deliverables, and operational metrics while providing recurring reports and status updates to leadership. * Operate within the FBI CJIS Division's Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment and actively participate in Agile Release Train (ART) activities. Required Qualifications Education * Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline. Required Experience Candidates must demonstrate experience in the following areas: * MUST have experience creating and maintaining data applications and tools that support the data integration process * MUST have experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and assisting agencies with Web Services Description Languages (WSDLs), Java KeyStore (JKSs), security certificates, and encryption usage * MUST have experience with web services, including SOAP and RESTful protocols * MUST have a strong background in developing and troubleshooting software tools, applications, and utilities using one or more of the following languages: * aPython * Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) * JavaScript * MUST have experience configuring and maintaining computer systems across Windows, Unix, and Linux platforms * MUST have experience in developing and maintaining software data integration tools, requiring experience in Java, Python, and C# * MUST have experience in creating and maintaining one or more the following databases: * PostgreSQL * SQL * SQLite * PL/SQL * T-SQL * Oracle * MUST be proficient in configuring thin client executable code * MUST have experience in installing and configuring Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) web servers, both in the cloud and on-premises, to handle static and dynamic web content and * Must have experience managing Java Servlets and JSP * MUST have experience with transforming languages and schemas with one or more of the following: * XML * XSLT * XSD * DTD * MUST have knowledge of maintaining and troubleshooting various Java applications while creating Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to facilitate information sharing efforts * MUST have experience producing data integration applications from various data sources to a specified XML data format * MUST have experience using data standards and validation tools * MUST have experience maintaining and troubleshooting SFTP data connections * MUST have experience with cloud architecture, particularly FedRAMP-compliant Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure Cloud * MUST have knowledge of law enforcement data and IEPD specifications Preferred Qualifications * Experience supporting federal law enforcement or criminal justice information systems. * Familiarity with FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) environments. * Experience supporting enterprise data sharing platforms, secure information exchange, and systems modernization initiatives. * Experience implementing infrastructure automation and enterprise integration solutions. * Experience working within a SAFe Agile environment.
