We have an immediate, full-time need for a skilled, energetic, and driven Junior Systems Administrator.

Description: The On-Site Junior Systems Administrator will provide on-site systems administration support services within a 24x7 operational environment. This role involves remote and hands-on troubleshooting of Linux and Windows servers, security administration, routine patch maintenance, network monitoring, and system configuration. Working as part of an active operations team, the ideal candidate will handle service requests, maintain data backups, manage system access controls, and assist in maintaining server infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud architectures.

Junior Systems Administrator Job Duties:

  • Perform general system operations, server maintenance, user account administration, and daily performance/availability monitoring across Linux and Windows platforms.

  • Open, track, and resolve help desk trouble tickets initiated via phone and email, managing customer inquiries and escalating complex issues to tier-three support teams.

  • Support server infrastructure, including firewalls, security configurations, database connections, malware protection software, and patch management processes.

  • Create, verify, and restore system data backups while reviewing application logs to address security or usability concerns.

  • Install, configure, test, and upgrade server hardware, client operating systems, network peripherals, and computer-related equipment.

  • Support cloud service environments (AWS), identity management systems, public key infrastructure (PKI), and automated configuration tools like Ansible.

  • Maintain clear technical documentation, system logs, inventory records, and operational reports.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional development and engineering teams to provide diagnostic data for elevated technical issues.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be eligible for Secret clearance and willing to undergo clearance process but active clearance is not required at time of application.

Experience Requirements: 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in IT support, help desk operations, or systems administration. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot networking, Linux, and Windows operating systems. Experience maintaining servers, reviewing application logs, and resolving hardware/software issues.

Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required (Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred).

Desired Skills / Qualifications:

  • Active CompTIA Security+ certification and relevant OS/Cloud environment certifications (Windows, Linux, or AWS) meeting DoD 8570/8140 baseline requirements.

  • Familiarity with AWS cloud processes, Ansible automation, Identity Management, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ticketing systems.

  • Ability and willingness to work flexible shift schedules within a 24x7x365 operational facility.
