Mid-Level Linux Systems Engineer (Enterprise Infrastructure)
Location: Huntsville, AL (100% On-Site)
Clearance: Active Top Secret required Overview
We are seeking a Mid-Level Linux Systems Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure operations within a secure, mission-driven federal environment. This role focuses on administering, maintaining, and optimizing Linux-based systems that support critical applications and data environments.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with Linux system administration, along with the ability to troubleshoot issues, support infrastructure operations, and contribute to system improvements in a high-security setting. Key Responsibilities Administer and maintain Linux server environments supporting enterprise applications and services
Perform system configuration, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning to ensure reliability and security
Monitor system health, utilization, and availability, proactively addressing performance issues
Troubleshoot and resolve operating system, application, and infrastructure-related issues
Support user access, permissions management, and system security configurations
Assist with deployment and integration of new infrastructure components and system updates
Maintain system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and operational guidelines
Support backup, recovery, and system resilience efforts Operational Responsibilities Participate in configuration and change management processes within controlled environments
Assist in maintaining compliance with security standards, patch baselines, and accreditation requirements
Support system testing, validation, and release activities

Experience with system monitoring, patching, and performance optimization
Familiarity with networking fundamentals and enterprise infrastructure environments
Experience troubleshooting system, application, and connectivity issues
Working knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash or similar)
Strong understanding of system security and access controls
Ability to work in a team-based, operational support environment Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting secure or compliance-driven environments
Familiarity with virtualization technologies or cloud-based systems
