Job description

This Position is Subject to Contract Award

OBXtek is currently seeking a Systems Administrator/Engineer II to provide system administration and engineering support for Muscatatuck Training Center Advanced Cyber Center (MACC-TTE) virtual and physical environments, including deployment, configuration, integration, and sustainment of IT/OT infrastructure supporting cyber range operations, testing, and training events.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform systems integration, configuration, operation, and testing for MACC-TTE environments
  • Deploy and maintain virtual and physical servers, workstations, and networked devices
  • Support infrastructure development across cyber range, OT, and training environments
  • Maintain and configure Windows and Linux enterprise systems
  • Implement automation, provisioning, imaging, and orchestration solutions
  • Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, Xen)
  • Support configuration management and system baseline development
  • Assist with IA/Cybersecurity requirements and compliance
  • Configure network services (DNS, VPNs, VLANs, firewalls, etc.)
  • Support integration of ICS/SCADA, IoT, RF, and other specialized technologies
  • Troubleshoot system issues and conduct root cause analysis
  • Support system resets and reconfiguration between TTE events
  • Assist with documentation, SOPs, and system diagrams

Must meet one the following minimum recommended education/experience pathways (functionally aligned), including the DoD-experience minimums:

Education

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, IT, or related discipline or equivalent experience

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years as a Cyber SME / Systems Engineer / Architect
  • Experience designing and configuring enterprise networks and systems
  • Experience with virtualization, automation, and orchestration tools
  • Experience with Windows and Linux system administration
  • Experience supporting cyber range or testbed environments
  • Experience working with network vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and mitigation

Certification:

  • Must meet DoDM 8140.03 IAT II requirements (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CCNA Security, CASP+)

Desired Qualificaitons

  • Experience with cyber range environments (MuTC, JCTE, PCTE, JIOR)
    Hands-on experience with Ansible, Python, or similar automation tools
    Experience integrating ICS/SCADA, IoT, and RF systems into networks
    Familiarity with RMF / eMASS / NIST 800-53
    Experience supporting IT/OT convergence environments
    Experience with event-driven cyber training environments

Security Clearance

  • TS/SCI (active and current) โ€“ Must be verifiable through DISS
