Job description

Parts Specialist (NPI / Fleet Operations) - Contract
Location: Sunnyvale, CA - Onsite (Monday-Friday)
Pay Rate: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
Full-time (30+ hours/week), 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Job Overview
We are hiring a Parts Specialist to support NPI and Fleet Expansion vehicle builds. This role works closely with the NPI Manager, engineers, and technicians to ensure accurate inventory control, parts availability, BOM execution, and incoming quality inspections in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills and experience in inventory management, kitting, and warehouse or lab-based operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and track parts inventory across multiple locations and build sites
  • Perform Incoming Quality Checks (IQC) per engineering and quality standards
  • Prepare and organize build kits based on detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with NPI managers, engineers, and technicians
  • Proactively identify and escalate part shortages, delays, or build blockers
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using internal systems and spreadsheets
  • Ensure parts and materials are available to meet vehicle build timelines

Required Qualifications ( Must Have)
  • Experience in parts, inventory, materials, logistics, or warehouse operations
  • Strong attention to detail; highly organized and process-driven
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable in a hands-on, onsite manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 30 lbs
  • Proficiency with Windows, macOS, or Linux-based systems
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Experience (Nice to Have)
  • Experience supporting NPI, fleet operations, automotive, robotics, or hardware teams
  • Familiarity with engineering BOMs, kitting, or lab inventory systems
  • Exposure to quality inspections or IQC processes
