Job Description:

Assists the Senior Manager, Data Center Operations (DCO) to provide technical leadership for Data Center Operations personnel.

Performs high-level system analysis and assists management in setting technical strategy for accomplishing new objectives.

Maintains knowledge of current systems and solutions, and provides analysis and recommendations for overcoming obstacles.

Functions as a high-level individual contributor in multiple technical areas including servers, storage, networking, and software.

Utilizes expertise in business management practices, industry requirements and information technology disciplines to develop technical and/or business solutions to enhance C Spire's cloud solutions.

Minimum of ten years of Information Technology experience required in a production or equivalent environment.

Proven in-depth knowledge of multiple versions at least two of the following is required: UNIX, Linux, Windows, or Cisco operating systems.

Proven ability to scope, design, install, configure, manage, and troubleshoot physical and virtual environments.

Proven ability to install hardware and software, and write/debug scripts, i.e., Perl, PHP, Python, Power Shell, etc. In-depth knowledge of advanced security, networking, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery.

Possess sufficient knowledge and experience to assist management in setting infrastructure hardware and software systems strategy.

Multiple years of experience as a technical lead with enterprise-class infrastructure systems expected, including working with systems and/or storage virtualization technologies.

Technical lead experience should also include supervising and mentoring junior staff and functioning as an interface with other IT and business units. Cisco, Linux, UNIX or Microsoft certifications expected.

Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Background must demonstrate the ability to operate effectively within a complex, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
