Job description

Florida based contract-to-hire opportunity with an enterprise-scale organization operating a large, complex hybrid infrastructure environment spanning on-prem data centers and GCP. This is a hands-on platform engineering role focused on GCP (primarily Google Compute Engine), VMware virtualization, IBM Power Systems, and Linux-based workloads across a multi-platform architecture. The contract is structured as contract-to-hire with a 6-month initial term and up to 10% travel expected.
They need someone who can do more than keep the lights on. You will be translating architectural designs into production-ready infrastructure, driving automation across provisioning and configuration, and leading migrations between on-prem and cloud environments. If you are a platform engineer who thrives in hybrid, multi-platform environments and wants a path to a permanent seat at an enterprise with real infrastructure scale, this is worth a conversation.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 5-8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, or platform operations
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically Google Compute Engine (GCE)
  • Advanced experience with VMware technologies including vSphere, vCenter, and HCX for large-scale migrations
  • Hands-on experience with IBM Power Systems (Power Series) and PowerVM
