Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Windows & Linux System Administrator to support a company focused on Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) network operations and secure defense technology environments supporting mission-critical government programs. This position is 100% onsite in San Diego, CA. The Windows & Linux System Administrator will maintain, secure, and enhance enterprise infrastructure across classified environments while supporting ongoing modernization efforts. Responsibilities for the Windows & Linux System Administrator include: * Administer and maintain Windows 11 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems within secure environments.
* Develop, execute, and maintain PowerShell and Bash scripts to automate system administration tasks.
* Perform infrastructure engineering reviews and provide recommendations for existing and future systems.
* Harden servers in accordance with DISA STIGs, IAVM requirements, and cybersecurity compliance standards.
* Support Ansible automation initiatives, asset management, procurement activities, shipping logistics, and development of SOPs.
Required Qualifications for the Windows & Linux System Administrator include: * 3+ years of experience administering Windows systems.
* 3+ years of experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.
* Experience developing and utilizing PowerShell and Bash scripting solutions.
* Experience supporting the IAVM process, including STIG implementation, patch management, and security compliance.
* Experience with Ansible automation and endpoint security preferred.
* DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security+ CE, GSEC, SCNP, or SSCP).
* Active Secret Security Clearance.
