Job description
Purdue University is seeking an Associate IT Support Engineer to join a collaborative team supporting the technology environments that enable teaching, learning, and research. This entry-level role involves contributing to the development and maintenance of various operating systems and ensuring secure computing environments.
Responsibilities:
• contributes to the development, installation, coordination, and maintenance of enterprise-level Windows, macOS, and Linux systems, software, and system management tools
• help ensure reliable and secure computing environments aligned with Purdue’s instructional mission
• gain hands-on experience in enterprise technology environments while working alongside experienced professionals who value collaboration, consistency, and continuous improvement
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree
• A minimum of six (6) months of professional experience in one or more of the following areas required: Windows, MacOS, or Linux systems administration
• Hardware maintenance of advanced computer, peripherals, and networking systems required
• Knowledge of one or more of the following is required; familiarity of the rest is desired: Windows, Mac OS, or Linux
• Ability to work with a wide variety of computer hardware, software, operating systems, peripherals, etc.
• Ability to work with a wide variety of faculty, staff, and students in a multitude of environments like instruction, administration, and research
• Ability to troubleshoot a variety of environments
