Summary of Job Duties:Primarily responsible for maintenance and support of the Epic IRIS databases on Linux platforms for both production and non-production environments. Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, update/upgrade the Epic IRIS databases. Provide support for ongoing Epic EMR implementation projects, providing technical expertise including testing and training. System administration of several servers and software systemd analysis, installation, and implementation. The administrator will work closely and effectively with technical teams, customers, analyst teams, vendor support, and management to align development plans, and to ensure effective integration among information systems and the UAMS IT infrastructure. Monitor technological advancements to ensure that solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry and company standards as well as emerging business requirements. Understand the interactions between systems, applications, and services within the environment, and evaluate the impact of changes or additions. Analyze systems and perform usability testing to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, and meet security requirements. Provides top tier support for UAMS Information Technology. Conduct tasks and assignments as directed. This position participates in a group 24 hours a day, 7 days a week 365 days a year on-call rotation where each member of the group takes call for 1 week at a time. Recognized as an advanced individual contributor. Works with limited supervision with extensive latitude for independent judgment. May assist less experienced peers.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field of study, with 3 yrs. of work experience in an IT environment supporting two of the following Windows Server Administration, Storage Area Network Administration, UNIX/Linux Server Administration -OR- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field of study, with 5 yrs. of work experience in an IT environment supporting two of the following Windows Server Administration, Storage Area Network Administration, UNIX/Linux Server Administration -OR- Associates degree in Computer Science or related field of study, with 7 yrs. of work experience in an IT environment supporting two of the following Windows Server Administration, Storage Area Network Administration, UNIX/Linux Server Administration -OR- High School Diploma/GED with 9 yrs. of work experience in an IT environment supporting two of the following Windows Server Administration, Storage Area Network Administration, UNIX/Linux Server Administration.

  • Required to be on-call and to respond immediately to trouble calls outside of general work hours.

  • Work occasionally may require in excess of eight hours per day.

  • Workload pressure will regularly subject incumbent to moderate to high job-related stress.

  • Ability to work in a team environment with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.

  • 5 years of work experience in an IT environment supporting two of the following Windows Server Administration, Storage Area Network Administration, UNIX/Linux Server Administration.

  • 2 years of experience supporting Epic IRIS/Cache.
