Job Summary:
SiriusXM is the leading audio entertainment company in North America, and they are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join their Media Content Engineering team. This role involves providing innovative solutions for the Broadcast product team and managing systems that impact content creation, distribution, and live broadcast.
Responsibilities:
• Maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the reliable operation of computer systems within the broadcast content environment.
• Adhering to standard operating procedures within IT Operations, including staff training and documentation.
• Managing Windows servers & workstations, Linux servers, and the VMware virtual environment and the backend hardware supporting our virtual infrastructures.
• Building, configuring, and managing Windows Server (2012–2022) and Linux server environments, including installation, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and software integration.
• Using SCCM to manage domain computer objects, create application packages, and deploy applications and patches across workstations.
• Performing backup, restore, rollback, and disaster recovery operations while maintaining system documentation, compliance reporting, and patch/update schedules.
• Applying core networking fundamentals—OSI/TCP/IP models, subnetting, NIC configuration, and network diagnostics—to ensure stable and secure infrastructure operations.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve server, application, and infrastructure issues and support administrative tasks such as account setup and storage allocation.
• Working knowledge of Cisco UCS platform including Cisco UCS Manager and firmware upgrades.
• Knowledgeable of HP server platform, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting issues.
• Overseeing the AD domain infrastructure.
• Managing AD objects, including user accounts and computer objects.
• Creating, modifying, and troubleshooting Group Policy objects.
• Knowledgeable about DNS, creating, managing host records and zones.
• Proficient with managing DHCP.
• Experience deploying Microsoft & Linux security patches.
• Assisting in deploying patches to workstations and servers using Ivanti Security Controls.
• Managing Network File Servers and FTP resources.
• Administering end-user accounts and permissions.
• Responsible for Virtual server infrastructure.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting any issues.
• Collaborating with team members to perform upgrades.
• Providing recommendations including new features, licensing requirements, high-availability, identity integration and risk assessment as appropriate.
• Developing and documenting all aspects of the virtual infrastructure as well as best practices and operating procedures.
• Working with application Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to build and manage virtual machines.
• Conducting design, implementation, administration, and support of the virtual desktop infrastructure including data-center virtualized products and related components, server and data storage systems and systems software.
• Monitoring the virtual desktop environment and taking necessary steps to optimize efficiency and improve performance.
• Developing and documenting all aspects of the VDI environment as well as best practices and operating procedures.
• Understanding desktop image creation and optimization for optimal workstation performance.
• Understanding of anti-virus or endpoint security management.
• Ability to deploy, configure and troubleshoot endpoint security agent to servers and workstations.
• Handling Tier 2 trouble tickets submitted by end users via Service Now.
• Performing troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common hardware and software issues.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT systems or equivalent, relevant experience.
• 5 + years of Enterprise Experience with Windows and Linux Administration
• Experience with Antivirus deployment and management - SentinelOne experience is a plus
• Experience with Vulnerability Management - Tenable Nessus experience is a plus
• Experience with CMDB - ServiceNow is a plus
• Experience with Virtualization Platforms.
• Experience with Docker containers and orchestration.
• Experience with Cisco UCS is a plus.
• Experience with scripting skills like Bash, Python, Powershell.
• Must be highly self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Ability to work as part of a team of different subject matter experts as well as supervise others in design and implementation.
