Job title: Linux VM Remediation Engineer
Location: Atlanta, GA
Rate:47/hr.
Job Description:
Perform vulnerability remediation and security patching on Linux virtual machines (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, and SUSE).
Apply OS patches, kernel updates, and security fixes in accordance with compliance requirements.
Analyze and remediate vulnerabilities identified by tools such as Qualys, Tenable, or Rapid7.
Troubleshoot issues related to patching, package dependencies, kernel upgrades, and system services.
Manage Linux VMs in VMware and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Automate routine remediation tasks using Bash scripting, Python, or Ansible.
Coordinate with application teams during maintenance windows and post-patch validation.
Implement Linux security hardening and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Monitor system performance, logs, and health following remediation activities.
Maintain documentation and provide remediation status updates to stakeholders.
