Job description

We are looking for a senior hands-on virtualization architect/SME who has actually migrated VMware workloads to Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization in production. This is not a general VMware, Kubernetes, or OpenShift administrator role.

🔴 Absolute Must-Haves

  • VMware → Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization migrations — direct hands-on migration experience is the #1 requirement.
  • MTV / Forklift — Migration Toolkit for Virtualization experience.
  • KubeVirt administration and troubleshooting.
  • Strong OpenShift Virtualization / OCP experience.
  • OpenShift Platform Plus (OPP) experience.
  • Advanced Migration Management (ACM) experience.
  • ArgoCD + GitOps for managing OpenShift environments.
  • Experience with multi-site / multi-cluster migration programs.
  • Migration automation using Ansible, Python, Bash, or similar.
  • Experience executing production cutovers, validation, rollback planning, and post-migration support.
  • Operational readiness — preparing engineering/operations teams to support the migrated environment.
  • Strong knowledge transfer/documentation experience, including MOPs, migration procedures, diagrams, runbooks, and training.

🔧 Core Technical Skills

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with:

Virtualization: VMware vSphere/ESXi, OpenShift Virtualization, KVM, QEMU, KubeVirt

Migration: MTV, Forklift, VM conversion, OVA → QCOW, production cutovers, migration validation, rollback

OpenShift: OCP, OpenShift Virtualization, OpenShift Platform Plus, ACM, Multus CNI, OVN, vSwitch/networking

Storage: Ceph, LVM, persistent storage

Linux: RHEL, Linux administration and troubleshooting

Networking: OpenShift networking, DNS, PKI, Multus, OVN

Automation: Ansible, Python, Bash

DevOps/GitOps: ArgoCD, GitOps, CI/CD
