ABOUT THIS ROLE

We have an exciting opening for a bright, talented and passionate Senior Systems Engineer to join our infrastructure team. In this role you will build, implement and maintain Linux based application systems in a developing DevOps culture. You will collaborate with other members of our team to ensure availability, performance, reliability, and security for our users and clients.


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Operate and continuously improve Linux systems engineering and administration.

  • Deployment and automation of applications via Salt & Ansible.

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve server events and user incidents relating to Linux systems.

  • Engage in detailed planning, change control and thorough testing to ensure performance, availability and stability.

  • Security related activities, system hardening, patching, vulnerability threat management and mitigation.

  • Manage and deploy system monitoring and management tools such as DataDog, LogicMonitor, Sentinel One, SNMP, etc.

  • Design and create automation to execute tasks and/or processes using scripting languages (Shell Scripting, Powershell, PERL, Python).

  • Create and maintain clear and accurate system documentation.

  • Ensure high performance and reliability of production systems by performing system monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, and troubleshooting system hardware, software, and applications.

  • Partner with Software Engineering teams to develop proactive maintenance plans, schedule maintenance windows, implement the changes, and follow-up.

  • Maintain non-proprietary application stack (Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Zookeeper).

  • Oversee infrastructure environment (VMWare, Storage, Backups, etc).

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical field (or equivalent work experience) required; advanced degree preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role with experience in Cloud environments (i.e. cloud migration, cloud management, cloud architecture) and hand on Linux Engineering and Administration.

  • Experience with infrastructure related software, including VMWare, noSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB), containerization (e.g. docker), orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes), SAN storage and backup

  • Experience with code management tools such as Git.

  • Experience with TCP/IP networking troubleshooting and tools

  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible and SaltStack).

  • Experience writing and maintaining python/powershell/shell scripts/other scripts that automate tech operations.

  • Experience with Dell server hardware.

Salary Range

$115,000-$143,750
