What you’ll be doing

This position performs journey-level electrical work installing, maintaining, and repairing overhead and underground power lines, transformers, meters, and related equipment. Work includes climbing poles and towers, operating heavy equipment, and responding to call-outs under the supervision of a Line Foreman.

You will be responsible for…

  • Install, maintain, and repair high-voltage overhead and underground power lines, transformers, switches, meters, and metering devices.
  • Climb poles, ladders, and towers; operate bucket trucks, boom trucks, and other heavy equipment.
  • Inspect work for compliance with operational and safety standards.
  • Trim trees and clear obstacles near energized power lines.
  • Assist in constructing and wiring electrical substations.
  • Use personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures.
  • Communicate with customers to address power issues and provide utility support.
  • Complete reports, forms, and maintain time and project records.
  • Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and trouble reports.
  • Lift and move equipment weighing up to 100 lbs, using appropriate tools or aids.
  • Use PC, GIS, and office software for documentation, reports, and project tracking.

What skills & experience you’ll bring to us

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of a Lineman apprenticeship program.
  • 6 months to 1 year of full-time experience as a journey-level Lineman in power line installation, maintenance, or repair.
  • Knowledge of lineman methods, materials, equipment, electrical theory, and safety regulations.
  • Skilled in pole, bucket, and vault rescue, operating lineman tools and heavy equipment, and basic PC/GIS use.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures, work with high-voltage lines, perform physical tasks, and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Exposure to extreme weather, high-voltage lines, heavy lifting, and confined spaces.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification by hire date.
  • Valid Arizona Class A CDL by hire date.
