Connect One is a leading provider of construction and maintenance services to the telecommunications industry. We do all phases of fiber and coaxial aerial construction from the initial planning and design through construction of the distribution plant, installations, proof-performance testing, and on-going maintenance. We have a reputation for quality, service and safety.
Overview
The Aerial Crew Ground-hand performs tasks associated with aerial Cable TV construction. This position will assist the lineman in the various aspects of line maintenance, repair and construction.
Responsibilities
• Operate construction equipment / utilize standard telecommunications tools
• Operate hydraulic aerial lifts and ladders mounted to trucks
• Prepare and assemble various line apparatus required for particular work being performed.
• Read and interpret engineering plans
• Assist with loading of various materials onto trucks and/or trailers
• Operate chain hoists
• Operate vehicle, following all safety and traffic regulations
• Use equipment to install grounding rods and anchors
• Maintain proper inventory on vehicle based on work assignment
• Keep work areas clean and organized including maintaining detailed record of work activity
• Any and all other duties assigned by supervisor/foreman
Qualifications
• Ability to endure long periods of standing, sitting, or walking, able to bend, stand, sit, crawl, climb and lift throughout work shift
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work varied schedule (on call, evening and weekends as needed)
• Ability to climb ladders and use bucket trucks as needed.
• Must be able to carry 75-80 lbs. and work at heights of 20+ feet
• Work mandatory overtime hours as required
• Must have a valid driver's license and ability to secure a DOT medical card
