Location: Tallahassee, FL

Engagement Type: Contract / Staff Augmentation

Work Mode: On-site (5 days/week)

Role Overview
The Data Warehouse Analyst will design, develop, and optimize Microsoft Power BI semantic models, dashboards, and analytical reports integrated with Snowflake. This role involves creating advanced DAX measures, writing complex SQL queries, and ensuring data structures are configured for reliable reporting performance. The analyst will collaborate with data engineering teams and business stakeholders to translate operational needs into scalable analytical assets while maintaining data lineage and metadata documentation.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop Power BI dataflows and semantic models using dimensional modeling and star schema best practices.
• Build advanced DAX measures and analytical logic to support enterprise-level reporting requirements.
• Create high-performance, user-friendly Power BI reports and dashboards, including paginated reports.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries (CTEs, window functions, and analytical queries) to prepare Snowflake data for reporting.
• Partner with data engineering teams to structure and optimize Snowflake fact and dimension tables for reporting consumption.
• Integrate Power BI with Snowflake using appropriate connection modes, ensuring query folding, data reliability, and optimal performance.
• Document metadata, data lineage, and report specifications to maintain governance and transparency across analytics assets.

Required Skills & Experience
• Minimum of 5 years of IT experience working with business intelligence tools and systems.
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience developing enterprise analytical reports, dashboards, and data models using Microsoft Power BI, including DAX, paginated reports, and performance tuning.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL query writing, optimization, CTEs, and window functions.
• Strong foundation in star schema design, fact/dimension modeling, and semantic model development.
• Proven experience with Snowflake compute optimization, clustering keys, cost control, RBAC security, warehouse sizing, and roles.
• Experience integrating Power BI with Snowflake, utilizing Power BI Report Builder, managing workspaces, and embedding Power BI reports into applications.
• Demonstrated experience with metadata management and data lineage documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Preferred Skills
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes for Power BI and version control.

Additional Details
• Candidates must reside in or near Tallahassee, FL, and report on-site 5 days a week.
• Work schedule requires flexibility between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM and/or Saturdays on a rotation, regular, or on-call basis.
