Job description

Our company is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Press Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all press line associates and maintaining the quality of the material produced in compliance with customer requirements. This role is integral to our operations, and we value the expertise and precision that a skilled Press Operator brings to our team.

Responsibilities
  • Verify job specification requirements before loading a coil on the line.
  • Assist in threading the coil onto the line and making necessary adjustments.
  • Determine the optimum safe speed for each job based on machine capabilities and previous runs.
  • Ensure all paperwork is properly documented and manage Die changes with the assistance of the line helper.
  • Identify defects and disposition them in accordance with QSOP procedures.
  • Inspect the quality of the material being processed, including blanks, short feeds, burr condition, and correct packaging of material.
  • Ensure proper packaging of material, cut bands and paper, and assist in housekeeping.
  • Assist in the training of new employees and meet production standards and goals set by the company.
  • Complete assigned projects and have the authority to stop production if necessary to correct quality or safety problems.
Qualifications
  • Experience in a similar role is required (600+ ton press).
  • Ability to meet production standards and goals set by the company.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects in material.
  • Ability to work safely and ensure the safety of others.
