Sparrows Point Country Club, located in Dundalk, MD, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Full-Time Line Cook! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
Pay:
$22.00 - $26.00 per hour depending on experience
Summary:
Ideal candidates are dependable, team-oriented, and able to take direction, with at least four years of cooking experience in a fine dining environment. The Line Cook assists the Chef and Kitchen Manager in preparing food for all culinary outlets on the property, including responsibilities related to kitchen sanitation, cleanliness, preparation, and timely delivery. This position requires strict adherence to all procedures and guidelines established by the Food Service and Safety Department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assume responsibility for quality of all products served
  • Assist Chef/Kitchen Manager with setup and preparation of food items for all outlets
  • Follow standard recipes accurately when preparing assigned items
  • Assist with monthly food and supplies inventory
  • Properly use and maintain kitchen equipment
  • Perform cleaning and sanitation duties for food preparation and storage areas as directed
  • Help distribute food and supplies across all outlets
  • Clean food production, holding, and serving equipment as needed
  • Assist with receiving and storing products
  • Maintain full compliance with Department of Health regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of four years of experience in a fine dining environment
  • Experience maintaining safe working conditions
  • Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
  • Must be dependable
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to follow direction

Working Conditions:
  • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and scooping (6-8 hours)
  • Frequent reaching with hands and arms
  • Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
  • Use of vision, reading, and hand/wrist movement to prepare food, operate equipment, and clean work areas
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception
  • Noise level is moderate to loud
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak and holiday seasons
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
