With 20 tenure-line faculty and 11 term faculty, the ISOM area is the largest academic area in the College of Business. About the Position:

The Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) Tenure-Line Assistant Professor of Operations Management (OM) will start Fall 2027. This is a full-time position with benefits. OM faculty are part of the ISOM area, one of the six areas of the College of Business. Salary and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Major responsibilities include conducting high-quality research and teaching Operations and Supply Chain Management courses in undergraduate and graduate programs;
  • The teaching load for this position is determined according to the College's workload policy, which specifies an initial load of 9 credits (this typically translates to 3 courses/year) for tenure-track assistant professor candidates and highly productive researchers; and
  • Additional responsibilities include service to the ISOM Area, the College of Business, the University, and the profession, such as student mentoring, committee membership, and interfacing with the business community.

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned a Ph.D. in OM or a closely related field or be ABD with a documented expectation of degree completion before the start of Fall 2027;
  • Evidence of effective teaching or the potential to effectively teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels;
  • Evidence of a strong research trajectory with the potential for publications in top-tier academic journals; and
  • Good citizenship in terms of service is critical, as is the ability to work well with colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fewer than two years since PhD conferral; and
  • Alignment of research interests with current OM faculty.
