Job description

Job Summary

The Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Administrator serves as the primary system administrator and technical expert for the laboratory's LIMS platform. This position is responsible for supporting system users, configuring and maintaining laboratory workflows, managing reports and interfaces, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The role acts as the key liaison between laboratory operations and Information Technology to ensure reliable, compliant, and efficient system performance.

Key ResponsibilitiesLIMS Administration & User Support
  • Provide day-to-day support for LIMS users and troubleshoot system-related issues.
  • Configure and maintain tests, specifications, methods, templates, and other system master data.
  • Deliver user training and guidance on LIMS functionality and best practices.
  • Respond to user inquiries and resolve system-related problems in a timely manner.
  • Serve as the technical lead for laboratory process improvement initiatives.
System Development & Continuous Improvement
  • Design, develop, and maintain LIMS reports and dashboards.
  • Configure system pages, workflows, and functionality enhancements.
  • Implement and maintain laboratory instrument interfaces with LIMS.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of statistical quality control and trending tools.
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders on system upgrades, validation activities, and enhancement projects.
  • Identify opportunities to improve laboratory data management, efficiency, and compliance.
Data Management & Analytics
  • Manage laboratory information and data stored within LIMS.
  • Generate reports and perform data analysis to support laboratory operations.
  • Support statistical analysis, interpretation of trends, and investigations.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Biological Sciences, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience supporting laboratory information systems and/or laboratory operations.
  • Basic system administration experience.
  • Knowledge of databases and SQL query development.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a regulated environment such as FDA, GMP, GLP, EPA, or similar.
  • Experience with LabVantage LIMS or comparable LIMS platforms.
  • Experience supporting laboratory instrument integrations.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control and laboratory data trending tools.
  • Experience participating in system implementation, validation, or upgrade projects

Salary Range: $84,000 - $115,500
Salary range provided per current averages and expectations. The salary and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
