Location: This role is hybrid, with up to two remote days per week. The office is located in Laurel, MD 20707. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Design, configure, and implement LabWare LIMS modules, ensuring alignment with business requirements and water/wastewater laboratory operational workflows.  

  • Lead the hands-on deployment and customization of the Contract Lab Template (CLT) and Enterprise Water Component Template (EWT) to fit organizational workflows. 

  • Establish seamless integration between laboratory instrumentation and the LabWare LIMS to automate data capture. 

  • Design, build, and maintain complex analytical reports and data visualization tools for laboratory stakeholders. 

  • Configure quality management, stability, and control charting components to ensure adherence to strict regulatory standards applicable to the water and wastewater industry. 

  • Conduct thorough unit testing, support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and resolve technical issues during the development and go-live phases. 

  • Provide documentation and technical handovers to the internal LIMS admin team and IT staff to ensure long-term system maintainability. 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a closely related scientific/technical discipline. 

  • At least 1-4 years of hands-on experience in configuring, customizing, and administering LabWare LIMS version 8.0 or above in a regulated water and wastewater laboratory environment. 

  • Proven track record of participating in full-lifecycle LIMS implementation projects, from initial requirements gathering through to final production deployment and post-go-live support. 

  • Extensive experience with full life cycle LabWare LIMS implementation, from initial requirement gathering to system configuration, knowledge transfer, testing, and deployment. 

  • The candidate should possess a comprehensive technical skillset, including hands-on experience and proficiency in the following areas: 

  • Extensive experience with full life-cycle LabWare LIMS implementation, from initial requirement gathering to system configuration, testing, and deployment. 

  • Advanced proficiency in writing and troubleshooting LIMS Basic code for complex calculations, parsing, and custom workflows. 

  • Strong proficiency in configuring automated sample scheduling for routine and non-routine testing. 

  • Experience setting up and managing inventory modules to track standards, reagents, and consumables. 

  • Hands-on experience with LabWare’s LabStation or similar middleware to integrate physical laboratory instruments with LIMS. 

  • Advanced capability in developing and modifying complex reports using Crystal Reports. 

  • Experience designing and implementing EDD formats for seamless data import/export  

  • with external clients and regulatory agencies. 

  • Familiarity with integrating or configuring quality management modules within LabWare. 

  • Solid experience in configuring Control Charting in the CLT/EWT templates. 

  • Experience in configuring and optimizing LabWare LIMS for mobile devices and tablets to support on-the-go laboratory tasks. 

Preferred/Nice to Have Skills: 

  • LabWare LIMS official administration or configuration certifications are highly preferred.

  • Must be able to pass a background check and obtain clearance.
