Georgia IT, Inc. is seeking a Database Administrator to ensure the availability, performance, security, and integrity of various databases. The role involves managing AWS-based databases, optimizing performance, implementing backup and recovery strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Ensuring the availability, performance, security, and integrity of databases, including Aurora Postgres, SQL Server RDS, Self-Managed SQL Server, and MongoDB
โ€ข Database Administration: Manage and administer the AWS-based databases, including Aurora Postgres, SQL Server RDS, Self-Managed SQL Server, and MongoDB, ensuring high availability and data integrity.
โ€ข Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune the performance of databases to maintain optimal efficiency and responsiveness, addressing performance bottlenecks proactively.
โ€ข Backup and Recovery: Implement and oversee database backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data is protected and can be restored as needed.
โ€ข Database Security: Implement and enforce security measures, access controls, and encryption protocols to protect sensitive data stored in the databases.
โ€ข Database Upgrades and Patching: Plan and execute database upgrades and patching, staying current with the latest releases and security fixes.

โ€ข Expertise in administering Aurora Postgres, SQL Server RDS, Self-Managed SQL Server, and MongoDB databases.
โ€ข Strong understanding of database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security best practices.
โ€ข Familiarity with AWS cloud services, IAM roles, and security groups for database administration.
โ€ข Experience with database migration tools and techniques.
โ€ข Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address database-related issues.
โ€ข Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Preferred:
โ€ข AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified Database - Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect, are advantageous.
