Lima Memorial Health System, in partnership with Rhodes State College, is offering an exciting opportunity for associates to advance their careers through our Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Student Associate Program.
Upon successful completion, participants will be fully prepared to serve as Certified Clinical Medical Assistants—equipped with the clinical and administrative skills needed to support efficient, compassionate care throughout our LMPC offices and clinics.
Eligibility Requirements:
Must be a Lima Memorial Health System associate
Have been employed with Lima Memorial Health System for 6 months or longer
Have been in their current position for 6 months or longer
Have received no written or final written disciplinary actions within the previous twelve (12) months
Required to complete a 4-hour job shadow with a CMA at an LMPC office of Lima Memorial Health System’s choosing
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Student Associates will be selected based on Policy ADM 120 “Hires, Rehires & Internal Transfers”

Associate Program Information
- The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant will consist of 120 hours on-line work + 132 hours of live skill-work, which includes 18 Modules.
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Training includes:
- 20 total weeks of online training modules:
- State requirements for CCMA accreditation
- Weekly instructor proctoring of modules for Q&A
- Live On-Campus (Rhodes State College) Lab/ Checkpoints

Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be a prepared Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), equipped to perform a variety of routine clinical and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the LMPC offices/clinics. The CCMA assists in the delivery of basic direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse or provider.
A Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Exam through the NHA will be facilitated by Rhodes State College. Upon successful passing of the exam, associates will receive a Certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.
CCMA Student program process:
- Dates of Program: August 24, 2026 – January 15, 2027
- 120 hours of on-line work will be conducted on the associates own time and outside of normal working hours
- 132 hours live skill-work with be held at Rhodes State College Campus
- Hours spent on the live skill work portion of the program will be paid at the associate’s current rate of pay
- The manager will schedule the live skill work hours and will build them into associates normal work schedule
- After the successful completion of the course and passing of the (CCMA) Exam, students will be expected to apply for CCMA posted positions throughout the LMPC offices within a 2-week timeframe
- There will be no guarantee that CCMA students that are currently employed in an LMPC office will remain in that office
- CCMA positions will be based on current vacant positions throughout LMPC
- Associates will be required to apply for posted positions for the interview process
- A one-year commitment as a CCMA will be required after certification is obtained and associate is placed in an LMPC CCMA position
