Position: Building Maintenance Technician

Role Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $23 - $27/hr


Lightology is seeking a dependable, hands-on Building Maintenance Technician to maintain our award-winning showroom, warehouse, and office facilities. This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance, repair, and improvement projects while ensuring our buildings remain safe, functional, and visually impressive for customers, employees, and vendors. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, takes pride in quality workmanship, and has experience in electrical work, carpentry, drywall repair, painting, and general building maintenance.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform general building maintenance and repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, lighting fixtures, outlets, switches, and breakers.
  • Install and replace lighting fixtures and LED systems.
  • Perform light carpentry, including framing, trim work, shelving, doors, and hardware installation.
  • Repair and patch drywall; texture, sand, prime, and paint walls and ceilings.
  • Repair and replace ceiling tiles, flooring, and baseboards as needed.
  • Assemble and install displays, fixtures, furniture, and showroom exhibits.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, drains, and valves.
  • Maintain HVAC filters and perform routine preventive maintenance.
  • Operate power tools, hand tools, ladders, lifts, and other maintenance equipment safely.
  • Perform routine inspections to identify maintenance issues before they become problems.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from showroom, warehouse, and office staff.
  • Assist with remodeling projects, showroom updates, and new product installations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors when specialized repairs are required.


Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial building maintenance experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems (120V/277V preferred).
  • Experience with drywall repair, painting, carpentry, and finish work.
  • Basic plumbing knowledge.
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow technical drawings is a plus.
  • Experience using power tools and construction equipment safely.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds and work from ladders and lifts.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and workmanship.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
