Where we operate
Headquartered in Florida with active work statewide. This role is based in Maitland, FL (Orlando area) and supports projects across the region; relocation may be considered.

Entrepreneurial, hands-on leaders who stay close to projects and clients. We emphasize ownership, transparency, professional growth, and delivering work that stands up to rigorous QA/QC and code requirements.
Job Description: Electrical Engineer (PE) / Project Manager
Location: Maitland, FL (Orlando area) - local strongly preferred; relocation considered
Compensation: $90,000-$120,000 (DOE)
Employment Type: Full-time

This PM-level role suits an Electrical PE with ~8-12 years in an MEP consulting environment who can own client interaction, run project meetings, and mentor junior staff.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
  • Own projects end-to-end: scope, schedule, budgets, design delivery, QA/QC, construction support.
  • Lead multi-discipline coordination (mechanical, plumbing, FP, technology/low-voltage, commissioning); interface closely with architects and owners.
  • Execute electrical systems design for commercial and institutional facilities (focus on medium-voltage distribution within facilities; low-voltage experience is a plus).
  • Produce/review Revit models and construction documents; ensure drawing/spec quality and NEC/NFPA and Florida code compliance.
  • Develop designs for interior/exterior lighting, standby/emergency power, surge & lightning protection, grounding/bonding.
  • Plan and run internal/external project meetings; document decisions, risks, and action items.
  • Coordinate with AHJs and utilities; support submittal reviews, RFIs, site observations, and punch.
  • Mentor/supervise junior engineers/designers as the team grows.

Required skills and experience
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
  • Active Florida PE (or ability to obtain via comity within 1 year).
  • 8-12 years of electrical design experience in an MEP consulting firm (PM-level responsibility).
  • Demonstrated expertise in:
    • Medium-voltage building distribution
    • Lighting (interior/exterior), standby power, surge/lightning protection
    • Revit (strong, hands-on proficiency); Word/Outlook/Excel familiarity
  • Codes: Solid knowledge of NEC/NFPA and Florida/local electrical requirements (SREF/FBC exposure for K-12 is a plus).
  • Strong client-facing communication skills-written, verbal, and presentation.
  • Stability: Consistent tenure; we generally avoid resumes with many 1-2 year stints.

Nice to Have
  • K-12 schools design experience (strong preference) and/or higher ed, healthcare, aviation, or government facilities.
  • Experience coordinating low-voltage/systems (security, communications) alongside power.
  • Prior team leadership and experience mentoring junior staff.

Why Luxus Build
  • Integrated A/E practice with direct collaboration between disciplines.
  • High-impact, visible projects in education and commercial markets.
  • Growth and mentorship: lead projects, guide junior talent, and shape standards.
  • Strong commitment to quality, client service, and long-term professional development.
