Position summary

Ayoroa Simmons is seeking a Senior BIM/VDC Project Manager to lead model-based coordination and digital delivery across complex AEC projects while supporting client relationships, strategic pursuits, and firm growth. The ideal candidate is a technically credible, client-facing leader who can manage BIM/VDC execution, advise project teams, and represent the firm in pursuits.


Key responsibilities

BIM/VDC project leadership

  • Align BIM/VDC scope, schedule, budget, and staffing with overall project goals.
  • Lead BIM/VDC execution from pursuit and preconstruction through construction and closeout, including BIM Execution Plans, model coordination strategies, and deliverable schedules.
  • Serve as primary BIM/VDC point of contact for owners, design teams, contractors, trade partners, and internal staff.
  • Establish QA/QC protocols for models, documentation, and coordination milestones; identify risks early and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support and guide Project Leads in running multidisciplinary coordination meetings, clash detection workflows, constructability reviews, and issue resolution; stay actively engaged while empowering Project Leads to own day-to-day meeting leadership.


Client relationships & pursuits

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, design partners, and industry stakeholders; identify opportunities for new work, expanded services, and follow-on assignments.
  • Support go/no-go decisions, capture planning, proposal development, and win strategy for BIM/VDC-related opportunities.
  • Participate in client meetings, shortlist presentations, and pursuit strategy sessions; contribute technical content and value propositions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by translating client goals into BIM/VDC scopes, work plans, and deliverables.
  • Manage assigned consultants and trade partners, including coordination of their scope, project invoicing, and billing.
  • Represent Ayoroa Simmons at industry events and conferences; partner with principals and marketing to align VDC capabilities with firm growth.


Technology, standards & process improvement

  • Develop and maintain BIM/VDC standards, templates, workflows, and best practices across projects and offices.
  • Continuously evaluate and select BIM/VDC software - including Autodesk, Bluebeam, and comparable platforms - to advance the firm's pursuit of leading industry workflows and production.
  • Drive innovation in Revit and coordination workflows, extending the firm's established leadership in scanning and reality capture; implement automation, dashboards, and emerging technologies (4D scheduling, digital twins, reality capture, prefabrication).
  • Train and mentor project teams on coordination processes, tools, and digital delivery expectations.


Team leadership & mentorship

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop BIM/VDC coordinators, specialists, and modelers.
  • Provide technical guidance to project managers, discipline leads, and field teams.
  • Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented environment; promote knowledge sharing across projects and markets.


Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 8+ years in BIM, VDC, construction technology, or digital project delivery; 3+ years leading BIM/VDC on complex AEC projects.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting client relationships, pursuits, proposals, or presentations.
  • Advanced proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Forma, and similar platforms.
  • Experience developing BIM Execution Plans, clash detection workflows, and model standards.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills; ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, commercial, higher education, infrastructure, or mission-critical sectors.
  • Existing client or industry network within [target geography / market sector].
  • Experience with 4D/5D integration, digital twins, laser scanning, reality capture, or prefabrication workflows.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, automation, scripting, or model-based analytics.
