Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer (PE) to join our growing team. This individual will lead electrical system design for building projects, mentor junior staff, and serve as a key technical resource within the firm.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of electrical systems including:
    • Power distribution
    • Lighting and lighting controls
    • Fire alarm systems
    • Low voltage systems (data, telecom, security)
  • Prepare construction documents, specifications, and reports
  • Perform load calculations, short circuit, and coordination studies
  • Coordinate designs with internal MEP/FP teams and external stakeholders
  • Attend client meetings, site visits, and construction coordination meetings
  • Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs
  • Mentor and oversee junior engineers and designers


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited preferred)
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (MA & RI or ability to obtain via reciprocity)
  • 5–15+ years of experience in MEP/FP consulting or building systems design
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, energy codes, and industry standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Experience with SKM, ETAP, or similar analysis software preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills


Preferred Experience

  • Experience with K-12, higher education, or municipal projects
  • Familiarity with Massachusetts building codes and energy stretch codes
  • LEED accreditation or sustainable design experience
