Job description

We currently have an opportunity for a Lighting Design Summer Intern.

Internship Responsibilities

As an intern you will support our lighting design team develop designs that are inspiring, creative, demanding and highly collaborative.  You will learn from others, and they will expect to learn from you. You will share in the responsibility, rewards and recognition of producing truly innovative solutions and complete client satisfaction. The pace is fast, and the camaraderie is close.

Some responsibilities include: 

  • Assist designers in preparing design documentation
  • Prepare AutoCAD and Revit drawings of lighting design systems
  • Assist designers with design calculations utilizing AGI software
  • Participate with designers in field investigations and construction site visits to observe and verify compliance with design documents
  • Assist designers with developing conceptual lighting design presentations utilizing photoshop software
  • Participation in industry events
  • Participate in lighting design lunch & learns with lighting manufacturers

Internship Requirements

The ideal candidate will enjoy a team environment and be flexible enough to work independently where needed. Candidates for this role will be eager to learn and will expand their knowledge and hands on experience by challenging themselves and using the highly technical resources around them.

Additional job requirements:

  • Pursing a bachelor's degree from accredited university in Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or Architectural Engineering
  • Must be at a minimum in your second year of bachelor's degree
  • Previous lighting internship or co-op experience, significant benefit
  • Proficiency and/ or knowledge in the latest version of AutoCAD
  • Experience or basic knowledge of REVIT
  • Proficient and/or knowledge in design and calculation software; MS Office Suite
  • Proficient and/or knowledge in AGI lighting calculation software
  • Proficient and/or knowledge in PhotoShop
