Job description

Job Title: Contents Technician

Supervisor: Contents Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary

Mitigate commercial and personal home losses with structural and/or contents cleaning.

Job Duties

· Check in with Lead Technician for assigned job sites for the day

· Gather supplies including boxing and packing materials, tablets and bar codes per specifications of the job

· Travel to jobsite using personal vehicle or work van

· Perform walk through at job site documenting areas of concern

· Take photos, inventory and perform pack out of damaged items

· Evaluate, document and clean damaged items as necessary

· Inventory property and stage boxes for transport

· Prepare items for shipment or storage utilizing packing material and barcodes for inventory

· Load boxes and damaged items into vehicles for transport to warehouse

· Unload boxes and damaged items upon arrival at warehouse

· Perform cleaning functions including operating the fire line

· Test functionality of appliances and ensure operational upon completion of job

· Wrap, dry and deodorize specified items

· Repack boxes upon completion of cleaning and restoration for transport back to the job site

· At completed job site stage boxes by room for replacement of items

· Assist in cleaning during and after construction

· Perform cleaning duties inside corporate office, warehouse and at jobsite including cleaning walls, windows, light fixtures, doors, open wall cavities, and other areas/items as assigned

· Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

· High school diploma and/or previous restoration experience desired

Language Skills

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak professionally to customers and employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to interpret graphs and diagrams.

Reasoning Ability

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses Required

· Chauffeur License

· Department of Transportation certified

Physical Demands

· Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit on a continuous basis

· Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on a frequent basis

· Ability to talk and hear on a frequent basis

· Ability to climb and balance on a frequent basis

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 100 pounds occasionally with assistance

· Must have clear vision with or without glasses

Work Environment

· Often requires work in wet, humid conditions, extreme heat and extreme cold and outdoor weather conditions

· Occasionally must work in high, precarious places

· Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals

· Moderate noise present both in warehouse and at job sites.
