Job description

Join Artists Frame Service! We are searching for a reliable Shipping / Receiving Clerk. Work independently receiving, inspecting, and processing beautiful home furnishings and packing custom frames. Our warehouse in the West Town neighborhood of Chicago supports multiple retail stores and is need of an additional team member in our shipping and receiving department. This position needs to be available 7:30am to 5 pm, but duties will vary from day to day. This position puts in 40 to 50 hours a week. Will report to Dock Supervisor daily.


Job duties include:

  • Using a forklift, pallet jack, or dolly to move items.
  • Helping load or unload trucks.
  • Handle light administrative receiving duties.
  • Ship packages with UPS Worldship.
  • Create custom boxes for packing and skidding of furniture.
  • Preparing small furnishings, home accessories and frames for shipment including packing, and creating labels.
  • Verifying items of incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.


Qualifications:

  • 2 year shipping or receiving experience.
  • Forklift experience needed.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English, Spanish speaking a plus
  • Hand tool experience needed ( e.g. drill and saws ) and basic measuring.
  • Strong vision and attention to detail, as required for performing thorough inspections and finding small flaws.
  • Good communications skills, both verbal and written are required and experience using a computer is preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs occasionally throughout the workday.
  • Must be available to work Saturdays on occasion.
  • Must be professional, on time, present daily, and doesn't waste time.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
