Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 4:30 AM - 2:30 PM

Industrial Assembly & Repair Opportunity - Millwright / Mechanical Repair

Voith Paper is hiring an Assembly Repair Mechanic (Millwright I) to support the repair, rebuild, and assembly of rotating industrial equipment used in paper manufacturing. This role is ideal for candidates with millwright, mechanical, assembly, or industrial maintenance experience who enjoy hands-on work, troubleshooting, and restoring equipment to OEM specifications.

You will work in an industrial shop environment performing tear-downs, inspections, repairs, and reassembly of rotating machinery, with opportunities to grow into a multi-skill industrial mechanic.


Key Responsibilities (Assembly Repair / Millwright)

  • Tear down rotating assemblies and mechanical equipment to diagnose failures
  • Assemble machines and rotating components back to OEM condition
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Measure bearing clearances and shaft diameters using inside/outside micrometers and Romer Arm
  • Move, align, and install machinery using hoists, cranes, forklifts, dollies, and rollers
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, lift trucks, and industrial equipment
  • Use large bearing pullers, torches, and perform light TIG welding as needed
  • Troubleshoot equipment reliability and performance issues
  • Document findings and repair activities clearly and accurately
  • Support installation work at mill sites if or when required

Skills & Experience (Preferred, Not Required)

  • Millwright, mechanical assembly, or industrial maintenance experience
  • Experience working with rotating equipment, bearings, shafts, or gear assemblies
  • Familiarity with cranes, forklifts, and industrial lifting devices
  • Welding experience (TIG preferred)
  • Ability to work in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
