Summary
Work is guided by detailed instructions, routines, and procedures. Tasks are routine, straightforward, and repetitive in nature. Decisions/actions generally affect own work. Works under direct supervision and receives detailed instructions on all work assignments. Refers questions and problems to higher levels. Responsible for own time and effort only. Deals directly with immediate supervisor, co-workers and team member; engages in routine exchanges of information; interactions with external contacts, if applicable, would be monitored.
Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
  • Driving truck to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in area.
  • Maintaining telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
  • Loading and unloading truck.
  • Inspecting truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
  • May perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, and spark plugs.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of internal customers.
  • Proof of required operator or driver's licenses and / or certifications where applicable.

Physical Demands
  • Duties of the position are performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.
  • Duties require ongoing light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motions, sitting in confined workspaces, using tools and equipment, and moving and handling materials.
  • Duties of the position may require periodic heavy manual effort and exertion including climbing, lifting, pulling and moving objects over 20 pounds.

Typical Experience
  • Zero to two years of relevant experience.

  • High School or equivalent (basic numeracy and literacy).
