Job description

SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Mechanical Engineer II.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Summary: SEACORP is seeking a driven and collaborative Mechanical Engineer to join our teamfocused on advancing the U.S. Navy's submarine capabilities. Work acrossdisciplines, and see designs come to life in challenging environments.
You'llplay a key role in developing Technical Data Packages (TDPs) andsupporting Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT) for innovativeNon-Propulsion Engineering Systems (NPES). Develop designs for temporaryinstallations on all classes of submarines to enhance tactical capabilities onsystems ranging from sonar to electronic warfare to imaging and combat control.
Job Responsibilities Include:
  • Create 3D models and detailed manufacturing/assembly drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Design robust mechanical foundations and custom kits for COTS equipment and electronic enclosures.
  • Perform stress analyses using hand calculations and Solidworks FEA tools.
  • Draft mechanical platform alteration drawings with AutoCAD.
  • Contribute to the development of EQT test plans and procedures; assist in hands-on mechanical assembly and testing.
  • Collaborate across disciplines-engineers, logisticians, and technicians-to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
  • Take initiative and ownership of your projects, from concept through execution.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred).
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience required.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (Simulation experience a plus).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Mathcad, and other analysis tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills-able to collaborate, present, and lead technical discussions.
  • A self-starter mindset with a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail.
  • Experience with NPES systems for Virginia, Los Angeles, Seawolf, Ohio, or Columbia class submarines is a plus.
  • Knowledge of military environmental testing standards (e.g., MIL-S-901, MIL-STD-167) is a plus.

As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship.

Travel: Infrequently (<3 annually)
Clearance: Secret
Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
