Job description

HazTek is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager to support a multi-phase industrial construction and facility expansion project in Rutland, VT. This position will provide site safety oversight and work closely with project leadership, contractors, and subcontractors to support safe project execution.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily site safety walks, audits, and observations
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with project safety requirements
  • Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and track corrective actions through completion
  • Review JHAs/AHAs, pre-task plans, lift plans, safety plans, and other project safety documentation
  • Participate in project coordination, pre-task planning, and safety meetings
  • Support incident and near-miss investigations and root cause analysis
  • Review contractor safety reporting and identify trends or areas of concern
  • Support contractor and vendor safety onboarding
  • Provide safety oversight for demolition, excavation, utility relocation, structural work, equipment installation, and other construction activities
  • Monitor high-risk activities including LOTO, hot work, fall protection, confined space, and crane/rigging operations

  • Previous construction safety experience in an industrial, manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, or similar environment
  • Experience overseeing multiple contractors and trades on active construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and safe work practices
  • Experience reviewing JHAs/AHAs, lift plans, and contractor safety documentation
  • Knowledge of LOTO, hot work, fall protection, confined space, cranes/rigging, and demolition activities
  • Experience with safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective action tracking
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • OSHA 30 required
