What is a lifecycle manager?

Lifecycle managers are professionals responsible for overseeing the entire journey of a product, service, or customer relationship from initiation to completion or renewal. They work to optimize each stage—such as onboarding, engagement, retention, and offboarding—ensuring that users or products meet business goals efficiently. Their duties often include analyzing data, coordinating with marketing and product teams, and implementing strategies to improve user experience and value.

How does a lifecycle manager typically collaborate with marketing, product, and customer success teams?

Lifecycle Managers work closely with marketing to coordinate targeted campaigns and ensure messaging aligns with the customer journey. They partner with product teams to understand feature releases and gather user feedback, helping to inform lifecycle strategies. Collaboration with customer success teams is essential for identifying customer pain points and optimizing engagement tactics. This cross-functional teamwork enables Lifecycle Managers to design and execute comprehensive programs that drive user retention, satisfaction, and growth.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a lifecycle marketing manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Lifecycle Marketing Manager, you need expertise in customer segmentation, campaign strategy, and data analysis, often backed by a degree in marketing or business. Familiarity with marketing automation platforms like HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or Braze, as well as certifications in digital marketing, is typically required. Strong project management, cross-functional communication, and creative problem-solving skills set standout candidates apart. These skills are crucial for designing effective campaigns that maximize customer engagement, retention, and long-term business growth.

Job description

The Role

The Director, Resilience Lifecycle & Supply Chain Operations leads product lifecycle management, launch planning and supply chain operations oversight across the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. The role connects global portfolio and supply strategies with country execution, ensuring launches and lifecycle changes are delivered in a coordinated, compliant and supply-ready manner while maintaining reliable day-to-day performance.

Working through Country Supply Chain Leaders and cross-functional partners, this leader establishes common governance, standards, performance routines and escalation pathways across the Resilience markets. Country Supply Chain Leaders will have a dotted-line relationship into this role for lifecycle, launch and operating-governance matters.

Here's What You'll Do

  • Own the integrated lifecycle and launch agenda across the UK, Canada and Australia, covering new products, indications, presentations, regulatory changes, transfers and discontinuations.
  • Translate global portfolio strategies into clear market requirements, milestones, dependencies, decisions and accountable owners.
  • Establish common lifecycle and launch governance, stage gates and readiness criteria across CMC, Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing, Commercial and Supply Chain.
  • Lead scenario planning and trade-off decisions across service, inventory, cost, capacity, shelf life, regulatory timing and supply risk.
  • Embed lifecycle and launch plans in long-range planning, IBP, S&OP/S&OE and country operating plans, converting post-launch learning into reusable standards.
  • Provide cross-market oversight of demand, supply, inventory, logistics, distribution, customer service and Order to Cash interfaces.
  • Set common KPIs, operating reviews and escalation mechanisms to identify and resolve service, inventory, launch and execution risks early.
  • Ensure country teams operate effective S&OP/S&OE routines aligned with global processes and that government, public-health, contractual and private-market commitments are executable.
  • Lead resolution of major cross-functional or cross-market issues, including shortages, constrained supply, quality or regulatory delays, logistics disruption and inventory exposure.
  • Oversee business continuity, crisis preparedness, stockpile readiness and recovery planning, and strengthen 3PL, distributor and cold-chain performance with Global Logistics.
  • Provide functional leadership, coaching and performance direction to Country Supply Chain Leaders through the dotted-line relationship.
  • Chair the Resilience Lifecycle and Supply Chain Operations Council, consolidating milestones, decisions, risks and issues across the three markets and escalating material matters as required.
  • Act as the senior cross-market Supply Chain partner to Resilience leadership and represent the markets in relevant global lifecycle, launch, planning and supply chain forums.
  • Build capability, succession and a high-performance, collaborative Resilience Supply Chain community with clear priorities, decision rights and disciplined follow-through.
  • Develop a common Resilience playbook for lifecycle, launch and supply chain operations, balancing standardization with necessary local variation.
  • Partner with Process Line Leaders and Digital teams to simplify work, improve data quality and deploy analytics, automation and AI-enabled capabilities that improve visibility and decision-making.
  • Maintain a prioritized improvement roadmap addressing process, system and capability gaps, with clear ownership, milestones and measurable value.
  • Ensure sustained compliance with GMP, GDP, GxP, data-integrity, quality-system and training requirements.
  • Travel periodically to country commercial offices, manufacturing or resilience sites and key external partners across the UK, Canada and Australia.
  • Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time.
