Job Description

Develop and maintain both a technical and operational knowledge of cell and virus growth in small-scale vessels and bioreactors.ย 

Develop expertise in bioreactor setup, operation, maintenance of probes, and culture monitoring technologies. ย ย 

Produce active ingredients for incorporation in studies in well controlled, well defined manner.ย 

Apply understanding of cell substrates, recombinant vector systems and biotechnology to process development studies. Cross-train in other applicable process development areas to support the project. ย ย 

Conduct standard laboratory studies under minimal supervision according to protocols.ย 

Conduct complex equipment setup and operation according to operating procedures under GxP guidelines.ย 

Record data from studies into laboratory notebooks and data capture forms.ย 

Compile data for analysis required for research reports, SOPs, presentations, etc. Maintain inventories, laboratory supplies and parts list for critical equipment. Support validation and qualification studies for laboratory equipment.ย 

Train on new equipment or technologies relative to the project.ย 

Perform scientific literature searches as assigned. Maintain a constructive, positive and team approach.ย 

Safety Objectives: Awareness and application of all health and safety and biosafety regulations applicable to the job in coordination with company safety and biosafety officers. Understand safety hazards in specific laboratory areas. Knowledge andย 

Skills: List knowledge/skills required incl. any required educational qualifications Master's or Bachelor's degree in the Biological Sciences, Virology, Cell culture technology, Bioengineering, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years experience in life sciences research, or a Bachelor's Degree with life sciences major and a minimum of 5 years related biomedical research and development experience could also be appropriate.ย
