Summary:
A Life Science Engineer III - Chromatography is a highly skilled and technically proficient professional responsible for leading and supporting Renovo Careโ€™s engineering service operations. This role serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Chromatography technology and equipment, including GC, IC, SFC and Mass Spectroscopy equipment, including Single quad and multi quad, providing advanced technical support, driving service excellence, and optimizing operational workflows. This position is a key escalation point for field service events, provides support training and development of engineering staff, validates critical service content, and contributes to pricing strategy and process improvement initiatives.
What you will do:
  • Lead all technical needs, including managing engineering service escalations, providing triage support for troubleshooting and coaching.
  • Offer pricing support for service-related tasks, tools, and materials as well as advising on parts inventory needs to support RenovoCare budgets.
  • Provide input on Renovo Care's potential and advise on the integration of new products into service offerings.
  • Directly support field service teams by acting as the final point of escalation for all service events in the field, resolving complex technical issues and ensuring field service teams have the necessary support to achieve successful service outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery, pricing, and training processes. Collaborate with internal teams to implement changes that optimize workflows and improve service outcomes.
  • Support the pricing structure for Renovo Care, Scientific Services, and Relocations, ensuring labor, material, and service delivery costs are well-defined and competitive in the Master Class Table. Define labor hours for each service to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement SOPs for equipment qualification, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, EMA). Generate qualification reports that document performance tests, risk assessments, and calibration checks for audit and inspection purposes. Ensure equipment is properly qualified before use by validating performance, confirming specifications, and verifying operational limits.
  • Perform remote and on-site troubleshooting during equipment service events, maintaining high service standards, across the Renovo Engineering Team.
  • Maintain direct responsibility for assigned RenovoCare equipment as part of the service delivery effort.
  • Performs planned maintenance, repairs, and other verification/qualification services on a variety of laboratory multi-vendor instruments
  • Installs and optimizes hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites
  • Manages customer relationships by communicating work performed and providing a follow-up plan as needed
  • Provides accurate and timely completion of service reports, expense reports and other administrative tasks
  • Communicates and escalate repair diagnostic and information with supervisor and other internal personnel to expedite repairs
  • Provides a communication link between the customer and supervisor to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance
  • Escalates to management challenging service events in an efficient manner and develops a plan for resolution
  • Trains and/or mentors Life Science Engineer colleagues on maintenance of HPLC/UPLC devices
Qualifications:
  • Experience repairing, troubleshooting, supporting and operating analytical chemistry or related equipment required
  • Minimum 7 years experience with life science laboratory equipment (e.g. LC, LC/MS, GC or GC/MS Chromatography)
  • Minimum 3 years experience with GxP environment
Education/Special Training:
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering or related field required

  • Must follow OSHA guidelines in regard to blood borne pathogens, airborne pathogens, radiation, sharp instruments and/or tools, hazardous liquids, and operating devices
  • On-time completion of safety trainings assignments
