Agent in Training

Farmers Insurance

Turn Your People Skills Into a Career

If you're motivated by goals, enjoy working with people, and want a career where your performance can directly impact your income and future, insurance could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

Farmers Insurance is looking for motivated professionals to join their teams as Agents in Training.

This is a sales-focused career opportunity designed for people who want more than just another job. You'll develop valuable sales and business skills, work directly with customers, and have the opportunity to increase your earning potential as you grow.

No previous insurance experience? That's okay. If you have strong people skills, a competitive mindset, and the willingness to learn, we'll help you build the insurance knowledge you need.

What Could This Opportunity Offer You?

Compensation and benefits vary by individual agency, but opportunities may include:

• Competitive base pay + uncapped commission potential

• Performance bonuses and sales incentives

• Lead generation and prospecting resources

• Training and ongoing sales coaching

• Professional development opportunities

• Paid time off and holidays

• Opportunities for increased responsibility and leadership

• Long-term career growth within the insurance industry

Interested in Business Ownership?

For someone who eventually wants to run a business of their own, the opportunity can go even further.

Qualified individuals may have the opportunity to pursue the Farmers Protégé Program — a development path that combines sales experience, mentorship, and business training for those interested in potentially becoming a Farmers agency owner.

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing

You'll spend your day connecting with people, learning what matters to them, and helping them find insurance solutions that fit their needs.

Responsibilities may include:

• Connecting with prospective customers through leads, referrals, phone calls, and outreach

• Asking questions to understand each client's needs and priorities

• Preparing quotes and explaining coverage in a clear, easy-to-understand way

• Selling Auto, Home, Life, Business, and other insurance products

• Following up consistently with leads and open quotes

• Building relationships with new and existing customers

• Identifying opportunities to provide additional coverage

• Managing your sales pipeline and customer communication

• Working toward individual and agency production goals

• Participating in ongoing sales coaching and professional development

Requirements

Who Tends to Succeed Here?

Your previous job title matters less than what you bring to the table.

You could be a great fit if you:

• Enjoy meeting and talking with new people

• Are motivated by goals, results, and earning potential

• Have the confidence to pick up the phone and start conversations

• Can hear "no" and keep moving toward the next opportunity

• Are naturally competitive or enjoy challenging yourself

• Take coaching well and want feedback that helps you improve

• Are dependable, organized, and consistent with follow-up

• Want an opportunity where there is room to advance

• Experience in sales, customer service, restaurants, hospitality, retail, banking, leasing, automotive, healthcare, or another people-focused environment can translate well into this position.

We'll Help You Learn the Insurance Side

• You don't need to walk through the door already knowing everything about insurance.

• You'll have opportunities for training, coaching, and hands-on experience as you develop your knowledge of insurance products and the sales process.

A Property Casualty insurance license is required to sell insurance. Candidates who are not currently licensed must be willing to complete the licensing process before beginning applicable sales responsibilities.
