Job description

The Fraternity & Sorority Life Office Assistants will support the general operations for the Fraternity & Sorority Life by providing front-line customer service and reception for students, faculty, and staff, and visitors. The Office Assistants will complete specific projects and duties for the Fraternity & Sorority Life professional staff in support of the day-to-day operations and events in Fraternity & Sorority Life.
Title: Fraternity and Sorority Life Office Assistant
Location: 180 McCormick Road, Newcomb Hall Room 171
Number of Positions Available: 5
Pay: $15/hour
Hours Per Week: approximately 10 -15 hours per week
Availability Required: Monday thru Thursday, 10:00am-8:00pm; Friday, 10:00am - 5:00pm
Duration: 2026-2027 Academic Year
Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support by answering the office phone, greeting visitors, answering routine questions to determine needed resources, make referrals, and provide information on policies, office services, and programs.
  • Schedule and monitor FSL Conference Room usage.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the four Greek councils (National Pan-Hellenic Council, Multicultural Greek Council, Inter-Sorority Council, and Inter-Fraternity Council).
  • Assist in the development and implementation of resources, programs, and projects for Fraternity & Sorority Life.
  • Assist in the compilation, design, and delivery of resource materials that support Fraternity & Sorority Life programming materials and social media promotion.
  • Assist staff with coordinating programs that will foster an increased sense of community among stakeholders who use the Fraternity & Sorority Life Office space.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Commitment to the mission of Fraternity & Sorority Life.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and partner with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience planning and organizing meetings, events and programs.
  • Ability to multi-task and work with a team.

Students who qualify for Federal Work-Study will receive priority consideration.

from 12-2:30pm in the Fraternity & Sorority Life Office (Newcomb Hall 171).
