JOB SUMMARY

The Sales Consultant works within the Outside Sales Department to successfully create and enhance partnership with residential and commercial accounts. As a Sales Consultant you will manage generating leads and building a sales pipeline through strategic account mapping, emailing, social media, newsletters, in-person events, educational events, and other sales marketing activities.

JOB SPECIFICS

The Sales Consultant position is a regular full-time (40 hours a week) exempt position. This position reports to the Sacramento, CA Office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONISIBILITIES

  • Passionate about home automation and security services and providing comprehensive, custom consultations to home and business owners based on individual lifestyles and needs.
  • Ability to cultivate ongoing, positive relationships with current and potential customers.
  • Perform as the face of Alert 360, promoting a positive company image and ensuring customer relations while presenting Alert 360 products and services to potential and existing customers.
  • Utilize company provided Salesforce.com CRM for all leads and continual updates through the sales process.
  • Prospecting and networking to find new business within the criteria of commercial customers established by Sales Management.
  • Schedule new on-site appointments with homeowners or business owners to complete sales presentations and keep pre-scheduled appointments.
  • Follow through in a timely and professional manner with customers during the entire sales process.
  • Develop and work a daily activity plan with management; track the results of the daily activity for review with management
  • Prepare and submit contract sales contracts for orders.
  • Report activity as requested to your Sales Manager or Branch manager.
  • Follow up with customers after installation to assure customer satisfaction and obtain referrals.
  • Assist with collecting any past due balances on customers with whom you have agreements.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • BSIS ACE License or ability to obtain this license
  • Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screen
  • Qualify for local licenses as required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently taking initiative in identifying and resolving problems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven team building skills, shares knowledge and is easily coachable
  • Aptitude for problem solving; ability to determine solutions for customers
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of SalesForce.com a plus but willing to train if not

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Regularly required to sit, walk, and stand for several hours up to a full 8-hour work day
  • Talk and hear, both in person and by telephone
  • Use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment
  • Reach with hands and arms lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus
