The Opportunity

We are representing a prestigious, high-volume personal injury litigation firm known for its aggressive advocacy and significant settlements. They are currently seeking an Personal Injury Paralegal who is a "file ownership" specialist.

This isn't a role for someone who just handles intake or just handles demands—this is for a professional who understands the full lifecycle of a New York's Plaintiff’s case, from the initial retainer through to trial prep and settlement distribution.

Core Responsibilities

  • End-to-End File Management: Independently manage a robust caseload of motor vehicle accidents (MVA), premises liability, and catastrophic injury files.
  • Discovery Mastery: Draft, serve, and respond to Interrogatories, Requests for Production, and Admissions. You will be responsible for identifying missing links in discovery and proactively chasing down records.
  • Medical Coordination: Review and summarize medical records, maintain constant communication with providers, and manage the "treatment phase" to ensure files are ready for demand or filing.
  • Litigation Support: Prepare Summons and Complaints, file documents via eCourts, manage calendars for depositions and IMEs, and assist in drafting motions and trial exhibits.
  • Lien Resolution: Proactively manage Medicare, Medicaid, and private health insurance liens to ensure maximum net recovery for clients.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience: 6+months of dedicated experience in New York Plaintiff Personal Injury.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in case management software (e.g., SmartAdvocate, Filevine, or Needles) and the NY eCourts filing system.
  • Process Knowledge: A deep understanding of the "No-Fault" (PIP) landscape and the verbal threshold in New York.
  • The "Proactive" Mindset: You don’t wait for an attorney to ask for a status update; you anticipate the next move to keep the file moving toward resolution.

Why This Firm?

  • Competitive Compensation: Salary is commensurate with expert-level experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
  • Culture of Excellence: Work alongside some of the sharpest trial attorneys in the region in a fast-paced, professional environment.
  • Impact: You will play a direct role in securing justice and financial recovery for individuals who have suffered life-altering injuries.

Note to Applicants: This is a high-visibility role within the firm. Only candidates with specific New Jersey plaintiff-side experience will be considered.
