What is a licensed associate agent?

A Licensed Associate Agent is a professional who holds a valid license to sell insurance or other financial products, typically working under the supervision of a senior agent or agency. They assist clients in choosing appropriate policies, handle policy renewals, and provide customer service. Licensed Associate Agents are often employed by insurance agencies or brokerages and must meet state licensing requirements to practice. Their role may also include generating leads, processing paperwork, and staying updated on industry regulations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a licensed associate agent?

To thrive as a Licensed Associate Agent, you need a valid insurance license, strong knowledge of insurance products, and sales acumen. ABOUT OUR AGENCY:
I opened my agency in 2020 and currently lead a team of five. Before becoming a State Farm agent, I was a Division I soccer coach. While I loved coaching and developing people, I was drawn to agency ownership because it gave me the opportunity to put down roots in a community, build lasting relationships, and help people protect what matters most.
I attended the University of South Carolina and am the proud parent of two children who keep me busy with their sports and activities. My coaching background continues to influence how I lead today, with a strong focus on teamwork, accountability, development, and celebrating success together.
Our agency offers PTO, paid holidays, licensing reimbursement, travel bonus opportunities, and a strong commitment to work-life balance. We believe that hard work should be rewarded and that team members should have the opportunity to enjoy life both inside and outside the office.
Our culture is relaxed, supportive, and team-oriented. We work hard, have fun, and genuinely enjoy celebrating each other's successes. I'm looking for someone who is self-motivated, positive, energetic, and enjoys working with others.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
As an Account Representative for Geoff Del Forn - State Farm Agent, you are vital to our daily business operations and customers’ success. You help grow our agency through meaningful customer relations and acting as a liaison between customer needs and agency departments. You improve the lives of customers by proactively marketing relevant products and services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop leads, schedule appointments, identify customer needs, and market products and services to help meet those needs.
  • Establish customer relationships and follow up with customers, as needed.
  • Provide prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service. Service can include responding to inquiries regarding product availability, eligibility, coverages, policy changes, transfers, claim submissions, and billing clarification.
  • Promote successful and long-lasting customer relations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in sales (outside sales or inside sales representative, retail sales associate, or telemarketing) preferred.
  • Experience in managing customer relationships preferred.
  • Interest in marketing products and services based on customer needs.
  • Communication skills - written, verbal, and listening.
  • Dedicated to customer service.
  • Able to anticipate customer needs.
  • Able to effectively relate to customers.
