Harmon Scrap Metal is a growing scrap metal recycling company committed to efficient service, safety, and sustainability. We work with commercial, industrial, and individual customers to collect and process recyclable materials. We're looking for a reliable and experienced CDL Roll-Off Truck Driver to join our team for $25.00/hr.
Position Overview:
The Roll-Off Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery, pickup, and transport of roll-off containers to and from customer locations and our yard. This role requires strong driving skills, attention to safety, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate roll-off truck to deliver and pick up containers
  • Transport scrap metal materials safely to designated locations
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensure loads are properly secured and comply with DOT regulations
  • Maintain accurate logs and paperwork
  • Communicate with dispatch and customers professionally
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies

Requirements:
  • Valid CDL
  • Clean driving record
  • Experience operating roll-off trucks (preferred)
  • Ability to perform physical tasks as needed
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in scrap metal or recycling industry
  • Mechanical knowledge of trucks and equipment

KEY COMPETENCIES
  • Ability to drive safely.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps
  • Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision
  • Able to remain professional and courteous at all times

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • At least 2 years of driving experience
  • CDL Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record
  • At least 25 years of age
  • Be insurable and have no more than 3 citations for moving violations and/or accidents within the past 3 years

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Crouch and squat for pre- and post-trip inspections
  • Able to pass DOT physical, drug screen, road test, and basic backing skills test
